Aim Hai History
A wish to establish a primary school was a result of some former reflections made by Harold Godfrey Shangali Family on the experience gathered of accessibility to primary education within Hai District and the entire country at large from early 1960’s onwards. The dream was to establish a primary school which will complement the efforts made by the government and non-government organization and hence avail ample opportunities for all children to be enrolled and imparted with good primary school education. It was also envisaged to have a well-structured and equipped school with optimal resources to facilitate quality education which is a good foundation for entering into secondary school education.
It was also envisaged to have a well-structured and equipped school with optimal resources to facilitate quality education which is a good foundation for entering into secondary school education. As the family continued brainstorming on the sound strategies of embarking on this endeavor, there was positive moral support from well-wishers including our family friends from Glasgow, Scotland, United Kingdom Prof Norman Jacobs who joined hands and availed their support in the entire process of implementation of the school establishment.
The School was established on the 04th January 2006 owned by Trustees of Aim Hai School Ltd, the founders of the school who were Mr. Harold. G. Shangali, Prof. Norman Jacobs, Dr. Wahida. H. Shangali and Mrs. Marian. N. Jacobs as reflected on the Fig-1 below. The school was registered by the Ministry of Education and Vocational Training, Ref. Reg. No: KL. 05/7/012 and KL. 05/7/E.A012 for pre and primary education respectively.
The top management of AHP&PS aims at achieving higher primary education outputs, while guiding the school in a new and exciting direction. In an effort to respond to the changing primary education needs of pupils, the plan set out a road map to achieving AHP&PS’s strategic directions along with its vision, mission, objectives and core values as articulated in the AHP&PS Governance Policy.
AHP&PS Five Years Strategic Plan (AHP&PS-FYSP-2025-2029) articulates interventions, results to be achieved and how performance will be measured. The Plan draws, among others, the experiences gained during eighteen (18) years of implementing AHP&PS’s operations. It considers the efforts made by the Tanzania’s Sixth Phase Government of transforming the country into a middle-income economy by implementing strategic sectorial reforms in support of the industrialization agenda and realization of the Tanzania National Development Vision 2025.
AHP&PS will continue to respond and sustain excellence in teaching, learning, innovation, consultancy, community engagement, and development of primary school education with key stakeholders. In addition to that, the school is committed in ensuring that, sound qualities are inculcated in all aspects so as to raise children with good discipline, behavior, attitude and culture in years to come.
The reflections of good manners, self-discipline and orderly as reflected on Fig-3 can be testified in whatsoever they are engaged in. It is also the desire of the school to ensure all stakeholders are involved in nurturing the children during their entire period of pursuing primary school education. The stakeholders include the Ministry of Education, Science and Technology (MEST), Friends of AHP&PS, Hai District Education Office, Parents, Guardians, Alumnae, etc.
